Class Feedback...

Here is the feedback we received from the class feedback session.


Performance/lip sinking;
lip sinking good, well done, all in time no faults, acting was good, a little bit too serious? repetitive performance.


Relationship between music and visuals;
the stars went with the music and words, stars worked well with song, looked a bit too cartoon-like. stars effect linked with music, but used too much, possibly could of used leaves? stars :) links well between songs and visuals.


Camera work;
a couple more shots needed to break it up more, girl sitting under tree shot with no action to fill up the instrumental shot, steady camera, tripod and hand held used. lot of sunglare on camera, could of used more.


Editing;
could have been smoother, but lots of good smooth transitions, appropriate for the pace of the music, split screen doesn't go well with this sort of song, writing looks odd, less words, well edited and good use of clips.


Special effects;
stars were pretty, liked the writing, good font, writing with the moving stars was a bit too much, liked stars although some are fuzzy, stars not greatly detailed.


Mise en scene;
nice leaves dress trees ducks and sunlight, liked hair & dress, good lighting from sun and trees, bike and dress went well, location on jesus green went well, use of bike good, costumes fit and bike worked well.



Overall, we are pleased with the feedback we received, however there are some comments we do not agree with, such as ''using a different type of dress - a flowery one'' we think the dress used was very appropriate, and fitted well how it was.
We also had feedback talking about the split screen effect around the tree, that it cut off nicola, and we can't see how it did this.

Progress...

We were managing to start making the final adjustments to our music video and when reaching the finishing touches when we came up with the idea of adding text to our video highlighting the words we felt were passionate and important throughout the song such as "wish" and also to make our music video more unique aswell as the moving stars which fitted very nicely with the title and them of our song. We were confident that adding the text would be effective as it was a technique used in the famous Ne-yo video "Closer". This works really well in Ne-yo's video and helps to make the video more interesting throughout and helps the viewer to learn the words which can help with promoting the song.
